Surfdog & Artbird began by painting characters and having them published by Phil Taylor Studios Greeting Cards, and everything produced since has revolved around art. Trained in Art and Design at the Randwick College TAFE in Sydney and graduating with a Graphic Art and Design Diploma, career adventures began in art and design studios and many advertising agencies as art and creative directors. These experiences led to painting full-time many years ago, as the duo have separate solo practices outside of Surfdog & Artbird.

“Surfdog & Artbird” are just getting into the art prizes circuit. As solo artists, their selections include The Hills Art Prize, The Fleurieu Art Prize, and The ANL and Manning Art Prizes amongst others. Solo representation and exhibitions have included Art Galleries Schubert and David Hart Galleries in Queensland, The Jackman Gallery in Melbourne, Rushcutters Bay Gallery in Sydney and overseas exhibitions in Hong Kong and China.

Their love of travel, sun, surf and their many furred and feathered friends, has taken them on many adventures. They are sponsors of the Cancer Council Posh Auction to which they donate a painting to be auctioned every year, and are Animal Advocates with the RSPCA in Australia for animal welfare. Surfdog & Artbird are represented by Nissarana Galleries in Noosa QLD and Mornington VIC and exhibit their artwork in arts events exhibitions.
